Advocacy

The Cedar City Arts Council is committed to arts advocacy in Iron County. We maintain a consistent presence at civic meetings that concern the arts and funding for the arts.  We work hard to live up to the standards we believe necessary to be an officially-appointed arts organization. We have recently partnered with the Cedar City-Brian Head Tourism Bureau and the Utah Shakespeare Festival to fund an economic impact study conducted by Americans for the Arts, Arts & Economic Prosperity V.

The results from the previous Arts and Economic Prosperity Report, Arts & Economic  Prosperity IVaepare available for free at this link, the Cedar City Arts Council also partnered with local arts agencies to include Iron County in that report.

Please take a few moments and fill out our survey! We want to know what matters to you. The only way we can confidently represent the arts lovers of our community is to ask for their opinion.

This priority also helps us create and find content for our weekly column in Iron County Today. We know that arts and culture play an important part in making Cedar City a wonderful place to live, play, retire, and raise a family.

If you’re looking for materials to share on behalf of arts advocacy, we recommend many materials on the Americans for the Arts Website, particularly,  Ten Reasons to Support the Arts.
